After Rose Reynolds' mother suddenly dies, Rose is sent into a tailspin. Not only is she missing her mother, but her grief-stricken father has become so protective that he keeps Rose as a virtual prisoner. Then there's Rose's best friend who has started dating a mysterious guy whom Rose does not approve of. Finally, Rose suspects that her new boyfriend, Christian, is keeping some secrets. Some very dark secrets. The question is, does Rose want to know the answers to those secrets or not?

One of the things that I enjoyed about this book was its strong sense of voice. There are several narrators in this book, and each of them is distinctive. I also liked Rose Reynolds, the main character. She's a good girl, but not a perfect one. She's very loyal to her father even though she understands that she must be allowed to grow up.

There were a couple of things about the book that bothered me, however. One was the language. It's not that I mind strong language, but it didn't seem warranted in a book as mild as this one. The other thing was the romance. I loved the relationship between Rose and Christian, but I wanted to watch it develop more instead of having it keep at the same level throughout.

I'm glad that Scent of a White Rose is part of a series since it means that I'll be able to read more about these characters and their world.

Rose and Christian are madly in love, sounds perfect doesn't it except for the fact that Rose is human and he is a vampire. This book is very different, there is no love triangle, no instant attraction (thank god) as these two have been in love for ages. Rose is not aware that Christian is a vampire and that a new Sire is being chosen soon. Christian loves Rose so much that he wants to petition the new Sire to change her so they can be together forever. There is only one problem with this happily ever after story, there is more to Rose than meets the eye. She recently lost her mother in a freak accident, her dad has started dating someone who looks just likes her mother and Rose knows that Christian is hiding a secret. Little does Rose know but her secret could destroy their relationship and will put all their lives in danger. In a world where vampires and demons abound, things are about to get very complicated for these two star-crossed lovers.
This is the first book in a brand new series and I couldn't put it down. The author Tish Thawer weaves an amazing tale of vampires, love, lost, and secrets.

Rose is a 20 year old college student who has lost her mom due to a freak accident. She was killed by a vampire Rose thinks but the truth is a lot more difficult for her to accept. Her dad has gone in total over protected mode due to the loss of his wife and it's driving Rose crazy. She has to sneak around to see her boyfriend Christian who is a vampire. Christian doesn't think Rose knows his secret and he's not allowed to tell her or feed from her since he's in love with her. But what Christian doesn't know is that Rose knows his secret and wants to spend eternity with him.

This is a definite page turner so be prepared to not be able to do anything while reading this amazing book. Tish Thawer is a new author to keep your eye on. Her books are going to be the next great thing. The story line and characters a fresh and new. Yes it is has vampires in it but Tish makes them different than any another book I have read in this genre. If you want an amazing love story filled with sexy vampires, secrets, and a plot that had me going WHAT?! Than you need to read this book ASAP.

Firstly , cover speak Just one word , B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L !! It's dark , hot and sexy ! What more do you need . Honestly , one of the most alluring covers i've seen recently !

The storyline EPIC !! I gave myself two days to get my thoughts straight and write up this review but i'm still short of words . Lets start with what this story is all about . Scent of a white rose is the story of Rose Reynolds who lost her mom in a ' freak accident ' which has left Rose and her dad kind of devastated , but rose is'nt what she seems to be , she has secrets . Secrets that could probably change one's view about her . Scent of a white rose is also the story of Christian , Rose vampire boyfriend . He has his secrets too , secrets that can change his relationship with Rose , will it ??
Scent of a white rose according to me was a very fast and compelling read .. Such a page turner , i couldnt stop myself from reading it in a day . Every chapter left me with my jaws dropped . I was like . ' Oh my god , no this cant be happening ! ' or ' Whaaaat , no waay !! ' . I was on the edge of my seat all the time .
What i really loved about this book was its story telling technique . Being the leading lady , it was good to see that the whole story was not told from Rose's point of view . The POV's would shift from Rose to Christian , then to Christian's sire Evangeline and more . It was refreshing to see the story from different perspective's . It provided a lot of depth to the story as it was good to feel and hear wht other characters felt or heard . The book was filled with so many surprises . I loved each and every one of it .
All the characters in this story were admirable even if some were potrayed in a negative shade , they still manage to keep you hooked to the story .
The ending was absolutely brilliant . I wanted to go on reading * sighs * . The wait for the second book seems too long .

Thoughts from the book I felt Scent of the white rose had a theme or a message , and that message for me was that every human being has a good side and a bad side . Its upto us to see which side do we favour the most . There's goodness in everyone , but if you let darkness make your choices then you will drift far away from light . It is not that you cant return but as they say once consumed by darkness its very difficult to see the light but its not imposible .

I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone who enjoys tales of the vampire's and demons . This one's a must read ! With the twists and turns its bound to keep you glued till you reach the last page !
