Johnny "The Great" Scarlotti is back with another amazing collection of dark perverse poetry. I've read a few of his books now, one more and I get a free T-shirt, this collection feels more sensible (or maybe it's just because I read it after the bleach boys), he doesn't seem to go full on crazy, instead we get a glimpse of his childish side. "Titanic Cruise, 2016" gives proof that I am also really childish, I laughed so hard at the ending.My favourite has to be "Black Lines" super funny and I've not heard of doing that before, gonna give it a go next time I'm swimming.
Jessie is back and gets mentioned loads, I dunno why he has to be so mean to Johnny "The Great" Scarlotti, but one day I hope Jessie releases a book full of responses.
Another fine collection, if you've yet to sample Johnny "The Great" Scarlotti's poetry then get a move on, it is well worth experiencing it....shame none of his poems rhyme :-)

It's not as spikey as it looks. At least not the kindle version...
Seems like every time I look, Johnny Scarlotti has another book of poems out. I like all his stuff, it's just plain fun to read. Grab a Scarlotti, grab a beer, and enjoy yourself.
Brutal, uncompromising and impossible to put aside. Written in blood, and possibly tears.
Happy to have popped my Johnny Scarlotti cherry with this book. So dark and twisted, but in a way that made me laugh and cringe out loud. I'm used to things that cross the line, but I'm not used to things that cross the line with the same flavor as Scarlotti.
As poems (and poets) go, most are mundane and depressing, or just (from a regular guy's perspective) too damn confusing. Not Johnny "The GREAT" Scarlotti. I found him online on one of those "submit your poetry" sites, and was fascinated with how he made up these little stories, very often with bizarre and sometimes gory twists. I had finally found someone with an even more twisted mind than me, or at least one that had found a way to make it seem so in writing.
For me to buy a poetry book was the last thing I though I would do in my life, but I did. The price was right, and it gave me some good reading. I don't want to belittle his style, but to me it's not regular poetry, it is poetry, or short stories, from a very special mind, the kind that shows you all to hide what is most valuable.
